Fueling, hydration & heat
What to eat, what to drink and what to watch for when you train hard in the heat. From a nurse.

Nurse. Endurance athlete. Never got into a single race lottery… until Comrades.
Registered Nurse Endurance Athlete Road to Comrades 2027
My story
I started running as a teenager in basketball sneakers (the worst possible running shoes, 10/10 do not recommend), because my teachers told me running would burn off all that restless energy and turn it into something useful. I was an undiagnosed ADHD kid, and they were right. Running has been my reset button ever since.
I fell in love, got injured, picked up cycling, and a friend pulled me into triathlon. That led to an Ironman Texas finish, half Ironmans, about 20 Olympic-distance triathlons, marathons, and a 5 km charity swim for Swim Across America the Sunday after my full Ironman. Apparently one Ironman wasn’t enough for one week.
These days I'm a registered nurse living in Tel Aviv, where I made Aliyah. I run with the @nicejewishrunners_tlv crew.
Why Comrades
So I applied to Comrades thinking “no chance”… and got in. I couldn’t believe it.
Now I’m training for the 100th edition in June 2027, my biggest ultra yet, to show everyone, me included, what I’m capable of.
Race calendar
Five start lines between me and Comrades. Come along for the ride.
Months of real race-day content, from a 15K night run to my first ultra at the Dead Sea, all the way to the 100th Comrades.
Giving back
Endurance is more fun when the miles mean something.
Before nursing took over my life, I was an EMT: about a year volunteering on an ambulance, plus medical tents at events and festivals across the US. Later I worked as a nurse at Burning Man.
I also trained with Aerial Recovery and deployed with them to multiple disaster sites in the US. I’m still connected with Beacon Rescue.

Training
I run the Tel Aviv beach boardwalk, Park HaYarkon and the coastal path up to Herzliya. Usually in serious heat and humidity. If your product can handle a Tel Aviv summer, it can handle anything.
What I create
What to eat, what to drink and what to watch for when you train hard in the heat. From a nurse.
The good days and the hard ones. Shared as they happen.
Keeping feet and legs happy over long miles. Taking care of people is my day job.
The boardwalk, Park HaYarkon, the coast to Herzliya, and the crew I run it with.
Every step of the build to my first Comrades, June 2027.
Travel & adventure
Between races, I travel. Mountains, rivers, trails. My audience comes along for those too.
Why work with me
A family member was sick when I was little, so I grew up in hospital hallways, at appointments and visits. Taking care of people has always been who I am.
Nursing is my job, not a hashtag. It’s why I can talk about fueling, hydration, heat and recovery clearly and responsibly.
I know the health side from work and the racing side from years of triathlons and marathons. I can explain the why, not just show the product.
I train through Tel Aviv heat and humidity. Hydration, fueling and recovery in tough conditions are just my normal.
I only talk about gear I actually use, like the Bombas socks I run in almost every day. My audience gets my honest opinion.
The road to the 100th Comrades runs through June 2027. A real goal people can follow, start to finish.
