My story

Running has been my reset button

I started running as a teenager in basketball sneakers (the worst possible running shoes, 10/10 do not recommend), because my teachers told me running would burn off all that restless energy and turn it into something useful. I was an undiagnosed ADHD kid, and they were right. Running has been my reset button ever since.

I fell in love, got injured, picked up cycling, and a friend pulled me into triathlon. That led to an Ironman Texas finish, half Ironmans, about 20 Olympic-distance triathlons, marathons, and a 5 km charity swim for Swim Across America the Sunday after my full Ironman. Apparently one Ironman wasn’t enough for one week.

These days I'm a registered nurse living in Tel Aviv, where I made Aliyah. I run with the @nicejewishrunners_tlv crew.

Why Comrades

I’ve never gotten into a single race lottery.

So I applied to Comrades thinking “no chance”… and got in. I couldn’t believe it.

Now I’m training for the 100th edition in June 2027, my biggest ultra yet, to show everyone, me included, what I’m capable of.

Giving back

Beyond the finish line

Endurance is more fun when the miles mean something.

Emergency response

Before nursing took over my life, I was an EMT: about a year volunteering on an ambulance, plus medical tents at events and festivals across the US. Later I worked as a nurse at Burning Man.

I also trained with Aerial Recovery and deployed with them to multiple disaster sites in the US. I’m still connected with Beacon Rescue.

Charity miles

  • Racing for Hope in Israel, for the victims of October 7th and everyone affected by the war
  • Half marathons and charity bike rides for Chai Lifeline
  • 5 km swim for Swim Across America, the Sunday after my full Ironman
  • Bike ride from Michigan to New York, through Canada, for Friendship Circle

What my week looks like

  • IntervalsSpeed work, every week
  • TuesdayTime trial
  • SaturdayLong run or long bike ride
  • SwimsMixed in when I can

I run the Tel Aviv beach boardwalk, Park HaYarkon and the coastal path up to Herzliya. Usually in serious heat and humidity. If your product can handle a Tel Aviv summer, it can handle anything.

Travel & adventure

The "travel" in @leebstravelrn

Between races, I travel. Mountains, rivers, trails. My audience comes along for those too.

Why work with me

Nurse brain. Athlete legs. One honest voice.

Why nursing

A family member was sick when I was little, so I grew up in hospital hallways, at appointments and visits. Taking care of people has always been who I am.

Nursing is my job, not a hashtag. It’s why I can talk about fueling, hydration, heat and recovery clearly and responsibly.

01

Nurse and athlete in one

I know the health side from work and the racing side from years of triathlons and marathons. I can explain the why, not just show the product.

02

Built in the heat

I train through Tel Aviv heat and humidity. Hydration, fueling and recovery in tough conditions are just my normal.

03

Real, always

I only talk about gear I actually use, like the Bombas socks I run in almost every day. My audience gets my honest opinion.

04

A story with a finish line

The road to the 100th Comrades runs through June 2027. A real goal people can follow, start to finish.
